Music director Gurukiran, who became a busy director in Kannada with his successive successes like 'Aptamitra' and 'Jogi' is making his debut in Telugu through this heavy budget film. The audio of the film would be released in the end of November amidst several prominent film personalities. Jayaprada, the heroine of yesteryears is playing a different role of a music college chairman in the film. Mahesh's 'Atidhi' starts in December

Prince Mahesh Babu, who rewrote the 75-year-old history of Telugu cinema with 'Pokiri' is playing a hero under the direction of Surender Reddy, who gave hit films like 'Atanokkade and Ashok' and earned good name as 'director with wonderful taking capacity'.The film is being produced by G Rameshbabu, son of Super Star Krishna, who had made a film like 'Arjun', again on the banner of Krishna Productions.'Atidhi' is the title which is tentatively planned for the film and the story discussions are progressing at regular intervals. Presently Mahesh Babu is busy with 'Sainikudu' shooting and hence the regular shoot of this latest flick is likely to begin in December.

Chiranjeevi says "No" to Politics

Chiranjeevi confessed that 2006 has been a memorable year for him. "I am not even wondering if they are giving me Doctorate for my social services or for cine contributions. Irrespective of the cause, this belongs to you. I have not done anything with awards in mind but these kind of honors give me more push to strive hard and do more work", said Chiranjeevi.He also pushed aside any talk on his entrance into politics. Venkatesh is playing the title role as Tulasi Reddy in this film.Though the production unit is not revealing any kind of details, sources said that the film is based on child sentiment and the entire story was woven around a child character. The film is all set to roll on very soon. Boyapati Srinu of Badri-fame is directing the film. The music for the film is likely to be provided by Devi Sri Prasad.

Chiranjeevi in God Father Remake

Megastar Chiranjeevi was supposed to do the Telugu remake of Lage Raho Munnabhai but after seeing Ajit’s Tamil film Godfather, the Diwali hit, he is in two minds. Chiru liked the film and was very impressed by it and called up its director K.S.Ravikumar to congratulate him.
Now the latest we hear is that Chiranjeevi is interested in doing this remake first. What impressed the actor was the triple role done by Ajit as father and two sons. In the flashback, one of the characters shown in the film is an effeminate classical dancer which clicked with the audience of Tamilnadu.The grapevine has it that Chiranjeevi sees great commercial potential in Godfather.

Pavan with Poori Jagannadh

The current hotshot director Poori Jagannath is likely to direct his first hero, Pawan Kalyan, again next year. Producer Allu Aravind is planning to rope in Poori Jagannath for his forthcoming film, which has Pawan in the lead. It is Pawan who had given a directorial chance to Poori with the film BADRI. Though the film was successful, all the credit went to Pawan and as if to add salt to his injury Poori's subsequent film, BACHI, bombed at the Box-office. Poori then onwards started proving himself as competent director. With four films hits under his belt now, he is virtually ruling the roost. Presently, Pawan is working for two films and next year he will act in two films. One of these two films would be directed by Poori, sources say.

Hrithik Roshan has inked a three-film contract with the Anil Ambani-owned Adlabs for Rs 10 crore per film. This makes Hrithik the highest paid star in India, way ahead of the three Khans who charge anything between Rs five to eight crore a film.

Nandamuri Balakrishna and director YVS Chowdhary are leaving for America in two days. In USA, they will be finalizing the getup for their ambitious film, Okka Magadu. Grapevine has it that Hollywood makeup artiste Michael R. Jones is roped in for the film. He might be preparing a special makeup and getup for Balakrishna for this film, sources informed Telugucinema.com. Michael earlier worked for Kamal Haasan’s Bharateeyudu.NBK is leaving for abroad this week and once he comes back, the film will commence its regular shoot from next month.

Chandramukhi Sequel

Why just bollywood films, the trend seems to creep in to south movies too. One knows about the tremendous success of Chandramukhi which was made in all languages. Now the producers have plans of creating a sequel to it. Currently the groundwork is on. But in this movie there will be a change in heroine. Since Jyothika has left films for good there will be a hunt for a new one. A green signal from Rajinikant is awaited.

Also, the makers are trying to bring the late legend NTR alive on screen through graphics. After the hugely successful "Laxmi", Telugu director V.V. Vinayak is coming up with another thriller. "Yogi" is about a mother-son relationship and Vinayak is confident that it will "captivate the audience". The film, starring action star Prabhas and Nayantara in the lead roles, is a remake of the Kannada film "Jogi". Puri Jagannath has been becoming sentimental with abusing titles like 'Idiot' and 'Pokiri'. There has been big discussion on the title that has to be given to Ram Cheran's debut film.
